Went shopping!

I went on a mini-shopping spree and got some goodies for Sarah and I.  I went to Target and got here a couple cute spring t-shirts and scooters (skorts).   The good Dave went shopping with me and when he saw the picture of the girls in scooters he said "Who would dress their little girl in that?  They look like hookers!".  I laughed and showed him how there were shorts underneath.  I guess he has never seen them before.  They are pretty much a staple in Sarah's wardrobe in the summer.  With these they can look cute and play too without showing their Tinkerbell underwear.  LOL!  Then I went to Petsmart and thier was a beautiful cat there that wanted to come home with me.  She may have to wait until this weekend.  I fell in love with that cat.  She is $100 though but comes with all her shots etc....   She is sponsered by Upstate SPCA.  I could take my chances again and go to the animal shelter where they are only $35.  I had my heart set on a siamese or something similar but when I saw that cat at Petsmart and the way she reached up and wanted to be taken out of the cage, my heart melted.  Ok on to shopping:  then I went to the hobby store and got feathers, sequins etc... for the gals and I to make Mardi Gras masks.  Today is mask day at work.  My sister mailed me one but I want to jazz it up.  The girls don't have one so I snagged some plain masks at work and we are going to jazz them up.  I have peacock feathers to add to mine.  I have six but if I share mine won't be as unique.  I should share tho to be fair.  Then on to the sporting goods store where I bought 2 pair of sneakers.  New Balance for my feet at work and North Face hike/sneakers for hiking and Geocaching!  Whew, then off to the grocery store and then to my counselers.  I had a good talk with the counseler.  I feel comfortable opening up and discussing with her.  We came to the conclusion that the reason I still interact with the EX is because I am seeking approval.  I was abused as a child and always was trying to seek approval from my abuser.  That probably carried over into adulthood.  I need to break away from that and not even talk about him.  Especially with my current B/F because it bothers him.  He came over after I got back from the counseler and we hada nice VISIT.  Hehe.

I hear a cardinal outside singing and dawn is just breaking.

We are expecting a storm tomorrow night into Friday.  These things always come when I have to work.  Geez...   Linda

Finally a day off!

I am in the middle of an anxiety attack.  Not a severe one, just enough to give me a little upset stomach and jitters.  I started thinking about my current boyfriend.  Our relationship isn't going very good.  I wrote him a note a few days ago thanking him for everything he has done for me etc... and he said he will not write me back, he doesn't know what to say or doesn't want to say it.  Our relationship is mostly platonic right now.  I think he is afraid that I still have feelings for the Ex, that I'm hooked up on him still.  I do find that I am still seeking his approval and I admited that.  Its hard to break habits.  The new b/f feels he may be a re-bound boyfriend.  I don't know.  Maybe we should just stay friends, I don't know what he wants.  I'm his first g/f in 10 years.  I think I freaked him out.  We do enjoy spending time together.  Maybe we should just keep it at that.  I will ask him today about how he feels.

I have alot of running around to do today.  I have to go over to EOC, the people that did my house and do a couple things there.  Then over to Target, Petsmart, ACMoore, BestBuy and grocery.  If I have time.  I have a 1:00 appt with my counseler.  This would be a good time to dicuss the current B/F.  Ok everyone have a good day....

What kind of flower are you?

I am a
Violet

What Flower
Are You?

Now isn't this cute!  I never thought I was a shy violet but I guess I am.  Weekend went good except I noticed my sneakers smelled terrible.  I thought I had B/O but tracked down the smell to my shoes.  They smelled like cat urine.  Hmmmmm   who would be responsible for THAT?

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday everyone!  I had a busy day at work yesterday because I volunteered to stay until 7 PM.  I worked on one of the assisted living units so it wasn't too hard.  My foot (plantar fasciitis) was killing me.  Today my knee is hurting.  My joints are deteriorating in my knee due to age,  a physical deformity and weight.  I really need to loose weight but its so hard to stay away from the goodies.  Here is Tarzan this morning!  Hehe...

Not much else going on, Sarah wants to go online and I need to get ready for work.  Everyone have a nice day.

Weather outlook for upcoming week

Another useless fact from Moi!

Another pretty coating of snow

We got another 3-4 inches of snow yesterday and overnight.  Heavy wet snow.  I've taken a couple pictures of it around the house...

The picture looks a little dark.  Its sunrise here right now.  This is our house...

Humble as it is, there is no place like home.  Today, we need to drive north up to Glens Falls for a counseler appt for Travis.  I wanted to go up to the outlets also and get Travis some new sneakers.  Sarah has a date with her mentor at 2:00 also.  Its going to be another busy day and I woke up at 6:30 AM.  I have to work this weekend.  Its usually very quite.  We had alot of people pass away at the nursing home lately, so we will be having some new faces.  The lady that had the stroke passed away also.  I'm going to miss her.  Everyone have a nice Friday..  Thanks to Chocolate Cherried Creations for my tag..

I'm an M&M

Google the M&M website and make one for yourself!

Day at the Museum

Hello from upstate NY again!  Dave, the kids and I went to the New York State museum in Albany finally!  Parking was a nightmare and we ended up at the Times Union center parking garage and had to pay $8.  We had to walk quite a ways to the museum as you can see by photo one its up there in that plaza complex.  Sarah was running all over there and we really didn't get much chance to LOOK at anything due to chasing her around.  Luckily, I have been there many times before.  They have a very somber 9/11 display with several artifacts taken from the site itself.

We have a little snow storm going through and are expecting about 3 inches.  Its a heavy, wet snow and the kids are out playing in the snowbanks.  Not much else for news.  My Ex sprung a surprise on me.  He has been dating this woman Jody for a couple months and has told me he is going to buy a house with her in the spring.

Another slap in the face for me...  He wants to dispose of our old home now and wants to know what we should do with it.  Its a mobile home but we owe on it still.  If he actually manages to do this, I may move into that one and sell the one I have right now.  The other one is larger, but in rougher shape because he never did any upkeep.  Its funny how after 12 years of abuse with me, he can have such a "wonderful" new relationship with someone else.  He must really be pulling the wool over her eyes.  I hate him....

Anyway, in the news there are interesting things going on.  Anna Nicole Smith - I agree with the judge with the disposal of her body.  IRAN - I think we are going to war with them soon...   Prince Harry going to Iraq.  Bravo to him.  He is a brave young man and very loyal to his country and sets a great example.  He certainly is Prince material.   Thats it for me in this neck of the woods.  Thanks to D's Designs for following graphic.  Link on right!

Lazy morning before work

I got up early today to get a chance at the computer ALONE and this is what I get instead...  See photo #1.  Tarzan loves to help me with the computer.  Dave came over last night, he always washes the dishes if there are any in the sink.  Makes me feel guilty.  He knows I work all day though.  I mentioned earlier in the day that I was making chili tonight so he brought me a gift.  See photo #2!  Yup FARTLESS CHILI MAKIN'S.  I guess you have to soak the hell out of the beans tho.  The back side says...  Are you a chili lover who suffers from the unsociable side effects of eating good chili?  Then try my Fartless recipe which I have enclosed, it might help.  But if it doesn't, what the heck, may all yours be quiet, little ones....  Sincerely, The Old Fart

I guess I will have to soak those buggers before I go to work.

Weather is supposed to warm up this week...  Up into the 30's!  My least favorite month of March is coming up.  I moved into this house in December, so I haven't had a chance to see what kind of soil I have here.  I hope its better than what I had at my old house.  I sure hope the EX enjoys my garden.  I will have to start over.  Linda

Big day at Daytona

While I didn't watch the race from the start, I did watch the end and knew this was going to happen.  Dale Jr. got taken out in an earlier wreck and this was the grand finale.  With 3 laps to go on a re-start, the winner is!

Kevin Harvick by a nose, edging out Mark Martin to win.

Meanwhile chaos ensued behind them....

Alot of cars were taken out here and Clint Bowyer finished upside down and on fire!

Gotta love NASCAR!

This is a good reminder for drinking and driving!

On to other news:  No museum again yesterday.  My b/f Dave was having trouble managing his blood sugar.  It was very high and refused to come down.  He has an insulin pump.  He tried everything but it was only down in the 300's last I talked to him.  Sarah and I had dinner over at his house with his family.  Dave is on disability and rents from his folks.  His son lives with him too.  He is 15 and named Michael.  We are going to try and go to the museum Friday.  They are having some type of flower expo there.  Ok gotta go get ready for work.  Another long week coming up.  Kids are out of school this week for Winter recess.     Linda

Museum today

Yesterday was an lazy day.  Sarah had been complaining of an earache the night before, so I had to take her to the Dr.  It was supposed to be her father's day to visit, but he didn't want to take her.  This is the guy who wants shared custody too.  So she has an ear infection.  After the Dr. I dropped her off at her grandmother's house with the prescription for her Dad to fill.  He called me later that evening and sounded as if he had been drinking.  Big surprise there.  He was telling me about the medicine as if I didn't know...

I took a nap in the afternoon and then went with my b/f to the Wild Birds Unlimited store.  I had to get more seed.  Poor little tweets were all out.  I had a visit from a Carolina Wren the past couple days.  Now that bird is out of place, but I have heard from other birders that they have seen them too.

So what do you all think about the new Bald Brittany?  That girl needs some serious help.  Makes me wonder how people can think she is capable of caring for her children.  I guess thats what nannies are for.  I added a link to one of my favorite hobbies.  Geocaching!  Its a global treasure hunt using a GPS unit.  I haven't done it in a while.  My Dad is really big into it and has over 300 finds and he started just in April.  I can't go out in 2 feet of snow.  Ok everyone have a nice Sunday!   Linda

Boring day at home

As you can see, I was bored today!  Took a few pics around the house.  I will go outside tomorrow and get some snow pictures.  I may go up north to a geocacher's event.  Its going to be in Long Lake.  Dave came over for a little while and shoveled off the front porch.  As you can see in a couple pics, we got a little snow!  Sarah was sick and I didn't go to work today.  My knee has really been hurting and I needed to rest it anyhow.  This will be a short entry!  Linda

Surviving the storm

I'm not sure but I think we got another few inches last night on top of what we had before.  The plowman has been out since 4 AM.  I woke up around 5 AM.  School is closed again today and the kiddies have lots of snow to play in!

Saratoga Springs, where I work is right around the number 16.  A friend of mine was asking about Tarzan and he is fine.  His FLV/FIV test came back negative and he is pooping normally now.  Lets hope it stays that way.  He is full of piss and vinegar this morning.  Well, have some bills to pay....   Linda

Lots of snow!

I'm not sure what the total of the snow is but we got alot.  The roads this evening are terrible.  I had to pay someone to plow out my driveway, but for $10 he plowed a spot big enough to park 2 busses!  I am exhausted and stressed out.  My boyfriend has not come over and I'm a little disappointed.  He seems obsessed with plowing with his ATV and little plow.  Oh well, I'm going to get offline...  Linda

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Yes, the storm is here!  People last night clogged the stores to load up on food.  I wonder what makes people do that?  They act as if they will be stranded for a week when more than likely they can go to the store tomorrow if they need to.  We only have 3-4 inches so far and are expecting much, much more!  I haven't seen if school is closed yet, but I'm sure it will be.  I may not post again until tomorrow, hopefully tonight!  I just hope everyone puts their big girl/boy underwear on and makes it in to work.

I went through my Hotmail acct this morning and deleted over 4000 messages that have accumulated since I left my ex.  Wow, thats alot of e-mails!  Took me 20 minutes with dial up.  I didn't sleep good last night.  Woke up frequently and of course had to go to the bathroom each time.  My bladder is slightly prolapsed and drinking 2 cups of coffee before bed didn't help.  TeeHee!  Well everyone have a fantastic day...  I will be interested to see if my boyfriend comes thru with the goods!  Hehe....   Linda

Tarzan

How much is that Kitty in the window?  The one thats watching the birds?

Ahhh fresh and clean teeth!

Thanks to NightmareMom of This, That and Hockey for this gorgeous tag!  I went to the dentist this morning and got a thorough scraping and cleaning by the dental hygeinist.  She said for someone who hasn't been to the dentist in 5+ years ( grin) my teeth were in pretty good shape.  Of course her and the dentist both lectured me about FLOSSING!  My gums are a little sore right now but they feel clean!

My beau and I went out for lunch today at the 99 resteraunt.  I had a nice pasta and chicken dish with roasted red peppers and vodka sauce.  Also the tuxedo brownie!  David had a Club sandwich.  I treated and said it was for V-day.  I have a card for him and some sugar-free candy also because he is diabetic..

I have been given a heads up by my place of employment to come prepared to stay.  That doesn't bode well.  This storm is supposed to dump up to 2 feet of snow on us.

Sorry its taken me so long to get links to my favorite journals on here.  For some reason my links to favs isn't working....     Linda

First big Snow storm coming!

Yes!  I am one of those people who enjoy a good snow storm.  The only problem with it is that I have to work....  That means a tricky commute and possible not getting to come home tomorrow night.  In a nursing home if there is not enough staff, the day shift has to stay.  Usually we stay and help out through dinner but in really bad circumstances, I would have to stay until 11:00 PM.  The weatherman is saying up to 2+ FEET of snow!  Luckily where I live now, there is a great snowplow guy who does half my driveway for free.  He might charge me a couple bucks for the rest this time!

I brought Tarzan the kitten to the vet AGAIN last night and he got an exam and the dreaded FIV/FLV test and it was negative for both!  I was happy, but I've spent alot of money on this animal shelter cat already!

Tomorrow is the dreaded Valentine's Day.  I have a new beau this year, and he has already voiced his dislike of the "holiday".  I am not getting my hopes up for roses and candy I guess.  Jewelery is more than likely out of the question...  School for tomorrow is probably going to be canceled so Sarah probably won't have her Valentine's day party tomorrow.  To everyone, have a happy Valentine's Day, or try too!   Linda

Hard day at work...

When I got to work this morning, I found out one of my favorite residents had a massive stroke and was sent to the hospital.  Yesterday, I had finished taking her for her walk, brought her to her room, helped her find a bracelet, kissed her and said "See you tomorrow, Dorothy".  Now she lies in a hospital bed, fighting for her life.  Life can seem so cruel.  She was a happy lady, always seen with her stuffed monkey named Jake.  She loved that monkey and carried it everywhere and treated it like a baby.  I brought it up to her at the hospital and her grandson tucked it under her arm.  Another lady on the same floor had to be sent to the hospital, she got sick all of a sudden.  And one of my favorite male residents fell and smashed his head.  Sometimes life at the nursing home is very sad.    Linda

Yea! I'm remembering how to do stuff!

After some browsing around, I came across AOL's new file manager.  Not my old FTP, but works the same!  I was able to get this picture of Little Buddy up.  Its an old picture, but served its purpose!  Now, I have to remember how to add multiple pictures like this one.  I have been having quite a time with our new kitten.  He was a little butterball when we got him and he quickly grew and slimmed down.  I should of brought him to the vet right away.  I had suspected worms and it didn't take long for his little system to get overcome by them.  So he got wormed.  Right after that he developed chronic diarrhea.  He has been to the vet and got medication.  Today his stool was firm, but tomorrow it could be liquid again.  I am supposed to bring him up again Monday for another exam.  These are getting expensive and the little mite still hasn't been neutered!  Luckily I have a certificate for a low cost one for that!  They want me to test him for FIV and FLV.  I'm wondering if the diarrhea was just a side effect of the worming medicine.

I'm working this weekend.  I am still employed at the nursing home.  I really like my job.  I love those old folks.  I seem more drawn to the Alzheimer's patients, even thought they can try my patience!  Cute play on words huh?  LOL!  One of my favorites on our rehab program died Friday.  I was very sad.  Not so much for him but for his wife.  He suffered a long time in pain.

The kids are doing good.  Travis' grades are up and down.  Sarah is doing pretty good but shows some signs of ADD.  Her father and I are still in a custody battle.  He said he will "fight to the end".  He also claims to have stopped drinking and that his new girlfriend "would kill him" if he did.  I was shocked and angry.  All these years he was in the bottle with me and the kids and all of a sudden he claims to be reformed?  He said he resented me for getting pregnant without his consent.  Ok but is he going to punish me for it forever?  How long does he have to hold a grudge.  He claims he loves Sarah and wants shared custody of her but keeps throwing that in my face and refuses to accept blame for his own drinking.  No apologies, just blame.  He thinks we can effectivly co-parent but he keeps nailing me to the wall when I make the littlest mistake.

Ok enough griping about that.  I have been dating again.  His name is also David but he is nothing like the old one.  He actually helps me and cares for and supports me.  Tends to be a little patronizing thought.   Ok I have to go get ready for work.  Hope everyone has a nice Sunday!~    Linda

Last entry pics

I didn't get to finish adding titles to my pictures due to the slow problem of DIAL UP!  I wanted to note that the pregnant girl is not me, its my niece, Lindsay, pregnant with her second!  Linda

Photos from the past couple months

Here are some pictures from the past couple months.  The farm pictures are from a visit out to my boyfriend's sisters farm.  She has two very large English saddleback sows, chickens and a couple mini-goats and lots of cats!  There are a few pictures of my grand-nephew Logan also and Sarah, my daughter.  The white/orange kitten is our new kitten, Tarzan.  Also one pic of my boyfriend, David.  Oh yes and the ice storm we had a few weeks ago.  I have to work today, so this is a short entry!  Linda

Another new journal

Here I am again!  This is my 3rd journal and hopefully I'll keep it for a while.  I am in my new house.  The kids and I moved in Dec 8th!  The weather is still cold and just a few flurries now and then.  Nothing like what they are getting about 2 hours west of us!   Poor people have 8 ft and counting!  I have my bird feeders set up and have attracted quite a crowd in the last few weeks!  I have alot of woodpeckers and nuthatches and well as the usual birds.  I will add more entries soon.  Linda
