First big Snow storm coming!

Yes!  I am one of those people who enjoy a good snow storm.  The only problem with it is that I have to work....  That means a tricky commute and possible not getting to come home tomorrow night.  In a nursing home if there is not enough staff, the day shift has to stay.  Usually we stay and help out through dinner but in really bad circumstances, I would have to stay until 11:00 PM.  The weatherman is saying up to 2+ FEET of snow!  Luckily where I live now, there is a great snowplow guy who does half my driveway for free.  He might charge me a couple bucks for the rest this time!

I brought Tarzan the kitten to the vet AGAIN last night and he got an exam and the dreaded FIV/FLV test and it was negative for both!  I was happy, but I've spent alot of money on this animal shelter cat already!

Tomorrow is the dreaded Valentine's Day.  I have a new beau this year, and he has already voiced his dislike of the "holiday".  I am not getting my hopes up for roses and candy I guess.  Jewelery is more than likely out of the question...  School for tomorrow is probably going to be canceled so Sarah probably won't have her Valentine's day party tomorrow.  To everyone, have a happy Valentine's Day, or try too!   Linda

Hi Linda.  Reading your post and understand about valentine's day.  I was listening to my daughter last evening while she discussed plans with her boyfriend for the planned holiday.  He sounded upset that he could not do something spectacular for her, but they ended up deciding to just make it a quiet evening at my home.  They're going to rent a couple movies, make a nice dinner and enjoy each other's company.  I think so much pressure is put onto men and women to try and make this day memorable.  And usually with a high price tag to boot.  I think my daughter was wise to come up with a Plan B, when she realized neither of them really had the money to go out or buy each other gifts.  So they are making do and learning contentment with one another.  I hope you both have a wonderful day, and the snow stays away!  Take care.

I hope the snow's not too bad! I disagree with the commercial aspect of Valentine's Day. It should be about being together, not how much you're going to spend on each other. We all know the shops hike up the price of flowers etc a few days before, let's give them a surprise and not buy anything, just be happy with each other's company! I'm glad the tests for Tarzan came back negative! Jeannette xx
