Tomato!

Here I am with my first tomato.  I had a tomato sandwich this morning and the slice was big enough to cover the bread!  It tasted really good too!

Beautiful isn't it?  The piece missing on the bottom of the slice is because the tomato had a large crack on it.

I talked to my Mom for a while last night.  She misses me alot already and I miss her.  Maybe I can come down in the spring.  Travis needs braces though and I might have to use my income tax return money to pay for what the insurance doesn't cover.  I will have to notify his father that he has to pay half.  I'm sure he will be thrilled with that.  He was all pissed off a few months ago when I told him that I wanted more child support.  He is paying me what someone on minumum wage at 5.35 an hr pays.  He payed it for a while and then whenever he had financial problems, that was always the first to go.  He is working a different job now, I know he is getting more than minumum. at that too.  What is it with men that don't want to pay support?  They get it free and easy with no kids to burden them and don't even think they should pay the Mom.  I know it goes the other way too, but not as much.  Its raining and dreary today.  Makes me just want to go back to bed.  Sarah has a birthday party to go to tomorrow so we have to go shopping.  The little girl has asked for things to put in a box to send to the troops in Iraq instead of gifts.  I think that is a wonderful idea.

In 11 more days I will be 41!  Hard to believe I'm that age.  I have to go to the Dr. today and I dread getting on that scale.  I know I'm enormous.  The damn thing will probably say I'm 200 lbs.  I can't believe I let myself get his heavy.  And I can't get if off to save my life.  I lost 3 lbs and they came right back.  I guess I need to try the high fiber diet!  Ok enough rambling.  I need to go shower.  Linda

That is one nice looking tomato~I just love tomato sandwhiches. My cousin's husband left her & her daughter and has not paid a dime in support nor contacted his child since he left.  He works fishing boats so he is paid all cash. If nothing else, I can't understand how a person can walk away from their child and never look back.  My cousin is very near bankruptcy so I can sympathize to what you dealing with.  My best to you.

I wish I was just 41. Hope you have a nice birthday. Good luck with the braces. My youngest had them and I'm sure they cost a lot more now. Now that is a tomato. I even like bologna with a fresh tomato and add some Miracle Whip and onion. Hummm Paula

Huge Tomatoe! Wonderful going for the first. Sorry the ex is horendous with paying support. When the question comes up why, you only need to remember the reasons why you are no longer with the deadbeat. Wishing you love and peace! (Hugs) Indigo

Linda that tomato is so wonderful looking! You did a great job growing your tomatoes..nothing like that first tomato sandwich. MMM hmmm. You are not alone in the weight department. I have lost only 8 pounds this summer...you would think that it would be melting off of me as hot as it is! But no, it sticks to me like glue...but I will battle it til my last breath! Goshdarnit!!! Don't ever give up. That is really thoughtful of Sarah. Did you know you can send your old magazines over to the soldiers? I didn't know that. Mama has been doing that with her Newsweeks and another lady does it that she knows too.
