Moped Mama rides again!

I've been thinking about buying a moped to get back and forth to work to help on gas and mileage on my lease car.  I saw one yesterday in the wantad digest.  I went up and looked at it.  It was pretty old but still runs good.  I paid a couple hundred for it (or more).  I don't think it was worth that much, but they are hard to come by and also will pay for itself in gas soon enough.  I just hope it stays reliable.  This is a picture of one like it.

I hope it works out to be a good one. When it gets warmer that will save a lot on gas. Helen

I think if you can do it, its a great idea. I know it will save tons of gas money for sure. Ian has an hour drive into work so the best he is going to be able to do is a little car that gets good gas mileage. With the warmer weather coming up it will be perfect. Kelly

Hi LInda, thanks for sending me your journal link... and thanks for visiting me and leaving the comment about Max... so thoughtful of you to do that. I love the idea of a gas saving moped... if I wasnt' worried about my hair getting messed up in the wind (I'm a teacher, I like my hair to be 'done', you know, hair spray and all) I'd consider it. Still, the thought of saving gas money, and riding a motorcycle does have appeal. I'd have to get over my fear of them first, the lack of protection. I have to drive about 9 miles to work. Let us know how it works out for you. bea

It also has the added bonus of being able to squueze past traffic! It'll save you a lot of money but please be careful on it, roads can get slippery when they're wet and watch out for manhole covers, they're slippery when dry! I have a moped and I love it!  I rarely ride it anymore but I do love it.  It got me many places in live for years and years and now it's just parked in the garage.  Hopefully I will ride it again soon.
