Poor starving kitty

Look at this nice happy kitty.  There is one this morning that I found out is starving.  I've seen this cat around and because its long haired, it appeared well fed.  It has always kept its distance, but this morning I was able to approach it and it let me pick it up.  This cat was nothing but a bag of bones.  I put some food out for it.  Maybe if it starts to trust me I can bring it to the shelter.  They may put it to sleep however.  There is a park policy not to feed the strays.  I can't help it though, I feel sorry for any starving animal.  Linda

I have had so many cats over the years...all were strays. There was Baby, she was a carrier of Feline Leukemia, so everyone that came after her had to be vaccinated against it. Then there was Boo, Georgie, Sam, A Calico cat we never named, a little black and white kitten that died soon after we found it. There was Selina...and Schillochi...the gray cat that recently died of old age. There were others we found homes for. Now we just have Kitten, one very old cat..and after her there will be no more...I am burned out on poop scooping, cleaning cat yack up, getting stabbed in the foot by stray peices of litter, cat hair everywhere, my sofa being shredded, well, you know, the list goes on. I know that most everyone loves cats...I reckon I have just had my share...even kittens don't faze me anymore. Cause thats how they getcha...when they are little and cute...then they turn into CATS!!! LOL. ;) I am glad you fed it, and yes,if you take it to the shelter it will probably be put down, but, it is better than being covered in fleas, ticks, and starving, better for the animal. The fleas and ticks would eventually make it anemic and it would die...so you are being merciful. Do not feel bad about it.

I couldn't bear to see a starving animal and not help it. I'm sure the park policyon this is just to stop people leaving food out for strays and attracting rats, mice and foxes etc into the park. Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
