Drama with Dave and Sarah

I'm feeling very upset this morning.  Last night at 9:00pm I called to talk to Sarah and someone picked up the phone and then hung it up again. I called Dave's mother and she said Sarah wasn't there.  I called back to her fathers and it sounded as if her father had been drinking.  She said she was ok etc.. but sounded very quiet.  I called the police to go up and do a welfare check.  About a half hour later I get a call from his saying "nice try, so I guess we are going back to court".  His mother had gone up there and was there when the police came.  She of course was being dramatic and hysterical.  Oh my poor babies.  Why do you have to act like this etc...  I calmly tried to explain that Dave sounded drunk and I was worried about Sarah.  So I called back later after he had calmed down and apologized.  So when I got up this morning there was a message on my answering machine from Sarah at 1:20 am.  She was crying and calling out "Mommy".  That just about broke my heart.  I wish I had brought that phone into the bedroom with me.  She probably just had a bad dream but it made me feel awful.  She probably tried to wake up her father and couldn't.  I'm sure he finished what ever bottle he had after I called to "apologize".  I fear for her safety so much....  I pray God will watch over her and keep her safe...  Linda

Oh and by the way.  I did talk with Jeffrey.  He didn't seem to indicate anything was wrong and was very supportive of me.  We may meet up tonight for a little geo-caching...

It breaks my heart that that child has to go over there at all. He doesnt really want to spend time with her...he just has her over there because he knows you can't stand the thought of it. I don't blame you, I would be sitting on pins and needles myself. You know, I am not saying to do this, but I swear I would be so paranoid I would halfway be inclined to get one of those little camera pins. Wouldnt even tell Sarah that that is what it was...just tell her it is a pretty for her to wear. Catch him doing things you probably never imagined. Gawd my skin just crawls to think of her having to endure being there. I am just so sorry Linda, I wish she didnt have to see him at all, ever again.

Oh Linda...I am so sorry you had to deal with all that last night. Save that message of Sarah calling you if you can...it may come in handy one day. I don't understand why the court will not make him have supervised visits...such as at a McDonald's or such.
love ya,
carlene

Oh, poor dear ~ I cannot imagine how frightened & worried you must have been.  I am so sorry you have to deal with someone like that, it's just not fair for you or Sarah.  I agree with Carlene, save that message if possible.  I'll keep you guys in my Prayers.  Try to have a nice Sunday.
Take care,
Lisa

So easy to see why you'd worry.  No matter how Dave feels about Sarah, drunks are just unreliable and unpredictable.  God bless and keep you both.  -  Barbara

I sincerely hope you do take him back to court. I would make sure to find out why Sarah was crying at that time of night and no one was there to help her. (Hugs)Indigo
