The deed is done...

I had a hard decision to make and I hope it was the right one.  I had my friend take poor Tiger to the shelter.  I felt he had to much for me to be able to take care of financially.  It made me feel bad and the shelter is over-crowded also.  I do want another cat, but I can't afford to take care of a sick one.  I was hoping to maybe get a kitten near Christmas.  I feel like a really bad person for having Tiger go to the shelter.  He did show back up, this time with something wrong with his tail.  It was all matted and he cried if I touched it.  I don't know how people can just dump off thier animals like that outdoors to fend for themselves.  I hoping they will find him healthy enough to be adopted out at least.

I still haven't heard from my Dad, it really does hurt my feelings, but I can see where he probably thought I was trying to cause trouble.  I wasn't, I was just hoping his heart would melt when he saw his first Great-grandchild.  I got some shopping done.  I got the X-box 360.  Ended up buying the Pro model because the Arcade model does not have a hard drive to save anything on.  I have to see if I can get a couple more games.  It came with two.  I really don't have much more news.  Bye for now...

Everytime I see the title of your journal, it makes me want to go back to starting my life over at 40. LOL... Too bad we can't go backwards.

What a shame about Tigger but it's for the best, I don't know what to say about your dad, you can just hope he may come round.

Take Care

Getting the xbox 360 with the hard drive was the best decision.  I'm sorry your father is still mad.

It is nice Tiger went to a shelter and not let go outdoors to fend for himself. I hope you get a kitten. Sorry your Dad still hasn't talked with you. I hope he does soon. Have a nice evening. ((hugs)))))

If you can't take care of the cat you just can't and it seems to me you made the correct decision. I guess I missed something along the way about your Dad so I'll just say I'm sorry there is something wrong between you and him. Paula

I just finished watching Animal Cops Houston..an old couple could not even take care of themselves and had animals living in filth...a person has to know when it is time to let the animals go for the better of the animal. I think you did the right thing for sure. Now, I am not trying to get down on you, but I dont understand why you would get a kitten right now if you cant afford veterinary care right now. What if something happens and the kitten gets sick, what will happen then. I am in NO way trying to upset you, just hoping you will wait a little while until things are a bit more stable, for your future animals sake. I love every animal I have, you know I love animals, but you have to be prepared for the worst all the time. Like when Derby foundered before we could get all that weight off of him his previous owners burdened him with...that was pretty expensive to have the vets come out and treat him over the following weeks, but we had to do it. Gawd I am sorry, I am not trying to preach to you, I will shut up now. Dont be mad at me.

Linda...you did the best you could.  Sounds like he got in a fight, poor thing.  But, boys will be boys and htey will spay him and I'm sure someone will like a nice mellow kitty for Christmas!

Jasmine turned 10 this year, and I think she is getting arthritis in her back or back legs.  She is stiff in the mornings (I know how that goes..now I wish I hadn't pushed those older folks to get out of bed for breakfast in the morning whne I was a CNA.  Karma, ya know?)  Anyway, I'm not sure if I can afford one animal if she needs on going Vet care.

The X Box is a fat, fat present that will be a 100% success.

You did the right thing dropping it off at the shelter and now it has a chance to find a new home.  There are so many people who drop off their pets outside and leave them...we found a kitten just last week in our driveway FOUR weeks old and a whole 9-10 OUNCES is all it weighed!  I mean you know someone had to have dropped it off because it did look like he came from someone house not like he was born outdoors.  He was perfectly fine and they had to of JUST dropped the little thing off.  It was 20 degrees out at the time and he was just shivering.  We still have him and were letting him grow up a little and maybe then we will try to find a good home...maybe not!  Maybe he's ours now?!  lol  I sure hope your dad comes around :(  Good luck!
