What I wanted for Christmas!

Weekend Assignment #194: Think back to when you were eight years old. What did you really really really want for Christmas/Hanukkah/Other seasonal celebration? We're taking the thing you wanted so much that you would just die if you didn't get it. If you can't remember what that was when you eight specifically, then pick an age close to it. But if you can remember what thing was when you were eight: Share it!

Extra Credit: Did you get it?

Oh a horse!  I lived and breathed horses and wanted one so bad!  I got toy ones but never a real one....  Still don't have one either!

I wanted a horse all of my life, it wasn't until I was 29 that I finally got TWO.  Flash & Cody...Flash is still with me, he is 22 now but Cody passed away 10 years ago.  I also had Bobby the rescued Arabian, he died in June 2007.  I still miss him terribly and not a day goes by I don't think of him & my heart aches. We have six now.  I remember you said how much you loved horses in some of your other entries.  Maybe one day you'll have one, it's never too late.

A horse is what I wanted at the age of 12.  I loved horses.  I was lucky enough to live in a state where there were a lot of available horses to ride.  I dreamed of being a barrel racer.  It never happened and I never got my horse.  At the age of 45, I still haven't got that horse.  Maybe someday.

Thanks for the post.  I agree that a horse is a good thing to want for Christmas.

Oh mine is much cheaper then a horse although I did want one but knew I would never get one.  The next best thing was a blow dryer! lol  Yes, I did get it and I used it almost every day after that.  My sister got it for me.  We each got two presents...but my sister would get me an extra one cuz I was the youngest out of seven kids so I was spoiled big time.  I still had that blow dryer up until three years ago when it finally blew up!  I was in my early thirtys...so it sure did get it's use in!  I sure hope you get your horse some day :)

You know, I have read several others entries on this, and I seem to be drawing a blank on this one. I think every little girl wants a horse though...isnt that a natural thing?
